Our Jamshedi Navroze lunch this year was all about new beginnings. We had ordered in from Katy’s Kitchen, Mumbai, which is run by husband and wife duo Dr Kurush Dalal and Rhea Mitra Dalal. One revelled in the soothing and delectable food on offer – the prawn pulao dal, the kid gos, the lagan nu custard and reflected in the terrible year that went by, which started with Katy’s Kitchen shutting down till Kurush and Rhea came back again, stronger than ever before.
The year that went by was about people fighting back and making a fresh start just as Kurush and Rhea had done. So here’s raising a raspberry soda tribute to them and to others such as Shubhasree Basu and her Apru Parsi Kitchen, Farida of Karrylcious Kitchen, Mahrukh Mogrelia of Mahrukh’s Kitchen, chef Anahita Dhondy and Nilufer of Weekend Kitchen Gurgaon, Tanaz Godiwala of a A Parsi Affair, Roxanne Bamboat of The Tiny Taster and all others who kept cooking Parsi food from their kitchens for fans of Parsi food.
Katy’s Kitchen is one of the few places which does vegetarian food and making a special appearance in the video is my mama in law, Freddy Kerawala, and mother in law, Pervin Bilimoria, who are rare Parsi vegetarians. Mama spoke about his childhood memories of Navroze in Surat in the video and made an appeal for the return of a specific Parsi mutton dish, khattu gos.

We had ordered veg pulao dal, kaju paneer and lagan nu ishtu for them and salli boti for our friends, and some more food.
I hope you like this video and will share it and subscribe to the channel.
