It was an honour to be at the launch of the Do Good Cookbook at the PVM Gymkhana on 15th Jan’24 and to receive a signed copy from the chief guest, the legendary UK based Indian chef @cyrustodi, who was accompanied by his wife Pervin @mrstodiwala
This book is a labour of love by Jinal and Adil Mistry of the Lions Club of Byculla and is packed with recipes contributed by the Ladies Auxiliary of the @lionsclubs of Byculla.
The book is in support of the the efforts by the Lions Club of Byculla to raise funds for the subsidised or free treatment and surgery (as per need) of patients of childhood cancer and epilepsy who are being treated at the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital, Mumbai. The book is not for sale but will be provided gratis to those who contribute funds.
I have helped review and name the book and am impressed by the amount of work that has gone into and the wide range of recipes on offer.
You can WhatsApp Adil Mistry at 9820320018 or email the organisers at dogoodcookbook24@gmail.com to know how to contribute.
Note: BJWHC is the largest and first pediatric hospital established in India. It is one of the only Public Trust Hospitals serving the underprivileged children. On an average BJWHC treats 7,000-10,000 patients annually in the neurology OPD, and 2,000-2,500 patients in the neurosurgery OPD. Out of these, around 5,000 children are diagnosed with epilepsy, and of these, 1,500-2,000 children have drug-resistant epilepsy and need surgical intervention.
