NYE 2000 |
K and I are not into public expression of feelings on social media, so this should do as a #valentinesday post.
The picture above is of our first (mirror) selfie together. Circa 2000 year end. Taken on my dad’s Pentax.

First dish he made for her post marriage: Omelette in the evening
Dinner with immediate family:
Gallops: Pre-ordered Indian dinner. (He was too nauseous to eat! Nerves?)
No badam milk was consumed on wedding night. Most of which was spent packing for trip to Kolkata the next day!
We had dinner together every night barring Sundays for a year,
went dutch and yet I went broke the night before we got married. ‘Balance is zero,’ said the HSBC ATM at Express Towers after I withdrew money to pay the tax on air tickets bought on work Air India frequent flyer points to Goa and back for our honeymoon.
Which is why all our dinners for the first two years after we got married, were cooked at home. In the verandah of our rented apartment in Khar that pretended to be a kitchen. Possibly Valentine’s too.
The selfie at the end of this post is that of ours from a few days back at our suite at the Trident Nariman Point which looked on to the sea at one side and the Nirmal Building on the other. The latter housed FCB Ulka Advtg, where K and I first met in early 2000.
Yes, ours was a work place romance. Thank god we were not working from home then!
Happy V Day @spalifekainaz

দুটো ছবিই সুন্দর, কিন্তু প্রথমটা যাকে বলে অসামান্য সুন্দর। যার মুখ দেখা যাচ্ছে না, তার আনন্দও ঝলকাচ্ছে ছবিটায়।
