The Dadar Catering College is holding a Japanese food festival later this week. I went to the Japanese food festival and Norwegian salmon festival there earlier. Both were very good.

Over the last 54 years, Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai has been a pioneer in the field of Hospitality & Hotel Management education. Each year students of the final year present a food festival, based on various cuisines. Due to the overwhelming response received last year, this year the students are again showcasing the cuisine of Japan, as it is one of the fastest growing global cuisines and gaining popularity with foodies and gourmets of Mumbai. The students will conceptualize & execute the event including the preparation & service of the meal as well as the other aspects of the program such as décor, marketing, sales, etc. The institute has collaborated with Harry Cheng and his Indo-Japanese venture maidoindia, in the business of “bringing Japan closer to India”, to present this event.
Chef Cradle Saito – an internationally renowned chef will be flying fromJapan, to hold classes at the IHM, to impart his knowledge thestudents in the preparation of the cuisine. Authentic ingredients are beingselected by Chef Saito and supplied by maidoindia.
Approximately 80 guests per meal are expected to turn up for the Japanese food festival which will be held from the 6th November, 2008 to 9th November, 2008 for dinner on all the 4 days, as well as for lunch on Saturday, 8th November and Sunday, 9th November, 2008.
