I woke up after yoga nidra followed by a nap feeling tons of post Covid fatigue and my sugar had apparently dropped and I got in touch with my doc and my nutritionist and both immediately got back on what to do. I feel truly blessed.
My study door was shut and I heard Baby Loaf meowing frantically outside when I woke.
I let him in and lay down again. He got up on the bed. Walked around me and came up straight to my face, one side at a time, and peered into my eyes. ‘I am very tired baby, must be a post Covid thing,’ I whispered and he listened intently.
Then he went and settled down by my feet as I sipped on a coconut water and then settled down by my feet looking snug and satisfied and went off to sleep.
I saw in my friend Nina Rawal’s feed that it’s #worldstrayanimalsday day today (4th April) She’s been feeding and looking after stray cats for years.
Baby Loaf sort of strayed into our lives in November 2019. Nimki was born in our compound on May 20 and lived outside for a couple of months before he became our second born.
Both our community cat friends, Scooby & Smol, Laddumati when she’s around, give us such joy and have completely changed our lives.
It’s not possible for everyone to adopt, or feed and sterilise strays, but as Nina said in her post, perhaps if nothing else, we can be kind to those who are kind to strays. They didn’t chose to born as strays after all.
