Food ordered in home suffers in terms of presentation when compared to that had in restaurants as the latter reaches one in dabbas versus in restaurants where it’s presented in an eye catching manner.
I try to do justice to food that we call in by presenting it in a simple, but appealing way.
This is my way of showing respect to the food and those who cooked it. It makes the meal experience feel so much better too. I do so even for our home cooked meals.
We called in for lunch from Katy’s Kitchen Mumbai. today as K’s folks were coming and we all love the food from here. Kurush Dalal and Rhea Dalal sent the food well before the guests arrived.
I went to the kitchen,
unpacked the food, chose apt dinnerware and put the food in. The process was near meditative.
The food, as always, was very well loved. I’d particularly praise the saas ni machhi as it’s easy to get wrong and horribly stodgy.
