Happy Independence Day to all fellow Indians.
I was looking for pictures of jalebis in remembrance of the jilipi and shingara packets we would get at the terrace of our building in Kolkata after flag hoisting. Came across the picture of ustaad making jalebis in Fort, Mumbai, years back. The spot where I began my movement towards a life of doing what I wanted to and not what I had to. He was a fixture in the food walks that I did at Fort.
Freedom from the past, from self doubt, from anger and hate, from the virus and fear is what I’d wish for us all. The freedom to be truly happy.
