I opened my laptop today to type in an invoice that I should have filed a while back and then decided to come to the blog page to see how things are here.

Still a bit groggy from lack of sleep (what would I do but for the Cyrus says podcast to watch) and the pain killers that I am taking for my back spasm. A short savasana, listening to Arun of Sivanand, Gurgaon, on YouTube helped.

And sipping on fresh coconut water from the fridge. That sounds like an oxymoron? Well, whatever.

The breakfast I made was good too. I was rather proud of the symmetry in the omelette I had made.

I felt little Nimki brush past my legs and then settle by me at the window sill. Just when I was thinking that I had not written anything of significance on the blog recently.

I had to retype these words many times as the shift key of my MacBook pro has become rather disobedient after 3 years, which makes typing a pain. Specially when you have to keep going back to fix the missing capital letters.

Which is why I have been using the iPhone to post a lot these days. Specially little text stories that I have begun sharing on Instagram. The engagement there is heady. Like the old days of blogging. Which makes me go back there for more.

It is not a good idea to key so much on the phone given that I have tendinitis of a shoulder. But then my weak lower back acts up when I am at the laptop for long.

No-one told you this when you were twenty! Not that laptops existed then. Outside of the military perhaps. And racy Jackie Collins and Harold Robbins novels. Please excuse the poor attempt at humour.

I do plan to copy the text of the Instagram posts and share the stories here one day. Just as I plan to take the audio files of my #foodocracyforher zoom interview podcasts and put them on anchor/ spotify.

Both are pipe-dreams. Plus ‘faakibaaji’ as we say in Bangla. Taking the easy way out. Not creating customised content.

Cut paste. Even if your own stuff.

The funny thing is that I am creating content perpetually. Be it through the Insatgram text posts. Or the picture posts. The interviews that I do on #foodocracyforher. The podcasts to camera that I do around home chef food on #foodocracykitchens. Yesterday I hosted a Clubhouse chat on Sunday lunches, though that is a medium I have stayed away from so far.

I am also writing a mini Instagram series for Mumbai Foodie.

That got delayed last week as my back had gone south till I took the pain killers. Possibly due to the physical activity involved in getting little Sushi, the neighbourhood kitty that we are looking after, back on his feet.

I do not want to blame that though. It is possibly the most meaningful thing I have done of late.

The novel I was working on a few months back went on the back-burner. Perhaps I should bring it out of the woodworks.

Perhaps I will write something of signficance here once I buy a new Mac and can type in upper case again.

Yes, it is all the keyboard’s fault.

It’s easier in my head that way.
