Taken by me on my second visit to the Golden Temple |
We recently had a discussion on a food bloggers group on festival related blog posts.
Some bloggers fretted about the pressure of putting up festival food blog posts. Some wondered if it was even worth it given so many people do blog posts on festivals.
I wryly said that K and I are a not a very festive couple. That ‘our’ festivals are our breakfast cafe outings and luxury stay-cations. Which is why I didn’t write often about festivals on my blog.
When I started writing for websites I saw that their editors wanted festival related posts as those give traction apparently. I had to go out of my comfort zone and check with friends about what they do on festivals to write these columns. I learnt so much in the process.
I have now so gotten so into writing festival post that this time I myself suggested a topic for Guru Nanak Jayanti to my editor at NDTV Food. I wrote an article about how I consider myself fortunate to have made not one, but three trips to the Golden Temple at Amritsar. That too at different stages of my career.
Here’s the link. Hope you like it.
