I used to work as an account planner at the turn of the century at an advertising agency at Nariman Point. One day I typed out ‘Behram Contractor’ in the internet browser of the shared office computer. It was a slow day at work and I lost myself in the prose of Mumbai’s very own ‘Busy Bee.’
I began writing my food blog 7 years later and 14 years down the line his prose continues to have a deep influence on me.
I never had the good fortune of meeting the late Mr Contractor but today I felt blessed by him when I found my story covered in Upper Crust, a magazine that he conceptualised and founded. It was my good fortune to be interviewed by Busybee’s loving wife, Farzana Contractor. I was overwhelmed by each line that she wrote. I am going to go back to this article again and again, determined to live up to her words. Thank you Farzana. Thank you Behram. ❤️
